Practice You, Present Retreat

7 Days to access a deeper dimension within yourself

In the rush to move forward, it is easy to lose touch with your centre. The way back is through the present moment.

Who

Joseph Robinson

When

June 28 – July 5 2025

Where

Lentas Crete

Where you currently are

“I’m exhausted and need a break.”
“I need some perspective.”
“I want to make a change.”

Where you will be

“I feel energised and am inspired
to re-engage my life from a
deeper space of knowing.”

Four Modes of Being

Level 1

The Doer

I am focused on the world and interact with it on the basis of my past experiences.

I am unconsciously guided by the stories I tell and the strategies that flow from those narratives.

Level 2

The Observer

I consciously notice my state of being and observe the thoughts, feelings and sensations that characterise it.

I am open to questioning my stories and strategies.

Level 3

The Experiencer

I courageously open to the inner energies that give rise to my states and sense of self. I am willing to directly experience and align with my truth.

Level 4

The Channeler

I can fall behind my thoughts and desires to rest in the present moment.  There, I can sense what wants to unfold through me and engage the world from a place of inspired knowing.

These modalities are available to all of us,
but accessing our deeper potentials depends on the quality of our PRESENCE.

To be present we need space to tune out and methods to help us tune in.

‘I’m very positively surprised by how good this is for me. The energy inside…it goes in the super positive way of happiness and joy. I have so much space that I can discover, full of good feelings.’

Simone S., Östeopath

'During the year you work, work, work, but in these combined intensive days, so much can unfold. It’s such a focused energy and like a culmination of, or way to digest what I’ve been experiencing.'

Corinna S., Innovation Expert

'Having more time in the class also feels huge. Combined with the fact that there’s no ‘To Do’ list in the background…there’s just so much more depth and space to relax.'

Nadja H., Cultural Manager

‘Knowing you for 10 years, I had the expectation of great yoga, and that’s what I got.’

Roman R., Pain Therapist

‘I love the place and already plan to come back. The teaching are really good, though sometimes challenging, but there’s no pressure from you. I feel I can just do what I want.’

Maria E., Teacher

Who is Joey?

Joey is a holistic yoga teacher, focused on teaching people methods to effect state change. As a results-oriented professional, Joey strives to add tremendous value to everyone who works.

Over the last 12 years, Joey has developed a unique teaching that incorporates the embodied practices of yoga with insights from ancient traditions, contemporary science and developmental psychology.

After many years spent pursuing a wide arrange of projects, becoming a father helped him to clarify his calling: empowering others to bring more steadiness, inspiration, and meaning into their lives.

Central to this process is a key insight: that our lives are a function of the stories we tell. These stories are grounded in our lived experience, but what we experience depends on our energetic state.

Change your state, change your story. Change your story, change your life.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can you tell me more about the daily schedule?

On the arrival day, we’ll practice from 17:00-19:00 and then enjoy dinner.

From Sunday to Friday, the first session begins at 8:30; brunch is from 10:30-11:30; the second session is from 16:00-18:00; dinners start at 19:00.  On Wednesday we will take the day off.  On the last day of the retreat, we’ll practice together in the morning from 8:30-10:30.

Can I come to the retreat if I have not do a lot of yoga and/or have not practiced with you before?
Though my instruction is geared toward more regular practitioners, this retreat is open to all, and I often have at least one or two beginners in the group. For me, it is not important that you understand everything I say, or ‘perform’ in any way. The yoga program and my instruction is always only an invitation and designed to support the ultimate goal of the retreat: to create a space where you can connect with yourself and your energies. If you would like to familiarise yourself more with my teaching, you can find online classes on my website.
Where do I fly into?
For anyone not planning a more elaborate trip, you should fly into Heraklion.
How do I get from the airport to the centre?
For anyone flying into Heraklion, I organise taxis to the retreat centre, which costs between 85€-130€ depending on the company and size of the car (4 vs 8 people). Most people arrive on the same 2-3 flights, so it’s possible to pay as little as 15€ for the transfer.
Should I rent a car?
While renting a car can be quite affordable, I usually do not recommend it unless you are either planning a larger trip or your arrival and departure times do not allow you to share the transfers to and from Lentas. This is simply because there is not much use for a car once you arrive at the centre, as there is plenty to do and enjoy there.
What kind of food can I expect?
You can expect excellent Greek/Kretean cuisine made with fresh, local ingredients that has a home-cooked feel. The breakfast buffet includes eggs, breads, cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables, cakes, muesli / porridge, as well as various spreads. During the day and evening food can also be ordered a la carte from the cafe’s regular menu. While the majority of the food is vegetarian, the kitchen is happy to prepare meat and fish in accordance with the preferences of the group.
Infos about food allergies / dietary restrictions
The centre can accommodate all dietary restrictions.
What are the outdoor options?

Aside from swimming and sunbathing, there are opportunities to hike along the shoreline to Trafoulas Beach and to the top of the Lion’s Head, as well as boulder on and jump from rocks and cliffs.

Can you tell me more about Lentas?
The village of Lentas is about a 10 minute walk from Levinthos along a shoreline path. There, you can buy food stuffs and beach essentials at the two small markets, withdraw cash at the ATM or try any of the 10 or so restaurants. A sandy beach with free lounge chairs and calm waters awaits you. Finally, Lentas is not visible from Levinthos, granting us the best of both worlds: pristine nature views with easy access to a little slice of civilisation.
How much do I need to interact with the group?
There is absolutely no pressure to engage the group — we enjoy shared meals and the practices, but otherwise, engagement is totally optional. Between Lentas, Levinthos and the beach, there is enough space to do your own thing. In terms of rooms, I would highly recommend the Levinthos Studios to anyone looking for space to reflect and restore.
What will we do on our day off?
If the sea cooperates, I usually organise a boat trip to a nearby secluded beach. If the water’s too rough, we can also hike or drive closer to it. Most people usually join this excursion, but others enjoy reading, relaxing, or visiting Lentas or the neighbouring beach settlement, Diskos.
I will have to do some work during the week. Is there WiFi?
Wifi is available in all the Filoxenia rooms, as well as the cafe and Shala at Levinthos. Most of the studios and apartments in Levinthos are within range of these sources, but the bandwidth can be low. The same can be said of the local 4G network: it’s present but not particularly strong. If you need reliably fast internet, I recommend coming prepared.
